Common Name: Dyeing Poison Dart Frog
Scientific Name: Dendrobates tinctorius
Background: CB 2009
Origin: The Guyana’s: Suriname and Eastern Brazil
Features: A diurnal frog that is brightly and variably coloured, not poisonous in captivity
Temperature: 75 – 78F with a small drop at night. Humidity should remain fairly high
Size: Can grow to 1.75 inches (One of the larger poison dart frog species)
Life Span: 2 -5 years
Herp Habitat: A well planted “rainforest” setup is required with a mixture of live and fake plants, a mossy substrate, clean and chlorine free water and plenty of hiding areas
Suitability: INTERMEDIATE ADVANCED
Diet: Will happily eat small inverts, feed on a diet mainly of small crickets dusted regularly and fruitflies
