Common Name: Yellow Foot Tortoise

Background: CB 2009
Origin: South America - Guyana, Surinam, Brazil, Ecuador, Paraguay, Colombia and Peru
Features: Slightly smaller and less colourful than their relative the Red Foot Tortoise, this is a forest dwelling speciese that can be quite shy.
Temperature: Maintain a daytime temperature of 80 – 90F with a warmer basking spot and with a slight drop at night. Requires a fairly high humidity
Size: Can reach over 20 inches long, but usually stay around 16-18 inches
Life Span: 50+ years
Herp Habitat: Provide a spacious environment with good ventilation but that can be kept fairly humid. A large water area, mossy hide and digging potential is also desirable.
Suitability: INTERMEDIATE ADVANCED due to large size
Diet: Omnivorous - will eat snails, slugs, worms, fruit and vegetation.
