Scientific Name: Gongylophis colubrinus, Eryx colubrinus, Eryx colubrinus loveridgei, Gongylophis loveridgei
Background: CB 2011
Origin: East Africa; Egypt south to Tanzania; southwest Somalia west to Kenya
Features: Females tend to grow slightly larger than males
Temperature: 80 – 85 F with a basking temperature of 90F – 95F
Size: Females can reach 36inches in length maximum; males don’t usually grow much larger than 20 inches
Life Span: 15 years
Herp Habitat: An arid/desert/sandy setup is best recommended with plenty of scope to allow the snake to burrow under the substrate
Suitability: INTERMEDIATE REPTILE
Diet: Will happily eat all defrosted rodents starting with pinkie mice when young
