Wild plants, weeds and flowers should make up a large portion of any tortoise diet, make sure you know what you are picking, wash thoroughly and make sure they are not picked near any chemical spraying/fertilising etc.

In addition to these cultivated plants can be fed including ice plant, hibiscus flowers and rose petals. Small amounts of ‘shop bought’ produce such as spring greens, curly kale, parsley, coriander, rocket, romaine lettuce and watercress can be fed along with very small amounts of grated swede and carrot. Fruit should be fed rarely if at all but can be used as a VERY occasional treat.
Various dry tortoise foods can also be purchased; some contain greater nutritional value than others.
In addition to all food a nutritional/multivitamin supplement and pure calcium powder should be used.
